Mission
To expose underserved learners across Africa to opportunities that broaden their horizons, expand their knowledge, and help them reach their full potential.
About Afri-Biomed
We deliver free virtual learning programmes for first-generation, economically disadvantaged students and curious minds across Africa.
We believe talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. Many of the learners we serve are capable and motivated but have had limited access to educational experiences beyond the classroom. Through accessible virtual programmes, we introduce participants to new subjects, careers, and opportunities that help them make informed decisions about their future. Our journey begins with research, with more learning programmes to follow.
While the Research Scholars Program is our flagship initiative, it is part of a broader mission to create educational pathways that enable young Africans to become researchers, innovators, and evidence-informed leaders capable of solving challenges within their communities.
Our focus
To expose underserved learners across Africa to opportunities that broaden their horizons, expand their knowledge, and help them reach their full potential.
A future where every learner can pursue their interests regardless of where they were born, the school they attended, or what they could afford.
Afri-Biomed is led by a dedicated team of seven volunteers working across programme coordination, outreach, communications, partnerships, and programme delivery — the people behind every initiative, from curriculum design to learner support.
We have no paid staff. Every programme we deliver exists because volunteers believe that every learner deserves access to opportunities that can broaden their horizons and shape their future.
Afri-Biomed is building a growing portfolio of free virtual learning programmes that introduce learners to new fields, careers, and opportunities. As we grow, we remain committed to making high-quality learning more accessible to underserved communities across Africa — empowering more young people to discover their interests, develop their potential, and confidently pursue their aspirations.
Afri-Biomed works to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity by delivering free virtual learning programmes that introduce underserved learners to new fields, careers, and possibilities they might not otherwise encounter.
Our programmes are built around accessible learning, practical exploration, and a supportive community of volunteers and learners. We believe every learner should have the opportunity to discover their interests, broaden their horizons, and pursue their potential—regardless of where they were born or what they can afford.
